ABOUT: "THE PSYCHOLOGICAL EFFECTS OF MUSIC" CURRICULUM

CALL  651-470-3269 TO PURCHASE

“The Psychological Effects of Music” is a STEM / STEAM summer music curriculum teaching students the science of sound, the biology of music, and how music affects their behavior and how music affects their money spending habits, underage drinking habits, etc. This evidence based social emotional learning curriculum is great for teachers, directors, and coordinators looking for music and science lesson plans or music steam activities that also help students explore the social-emotional connection between music and their emotional behavior. Our curriculum literally wakes students up and teaches them how to use music to their advantage instead of their disadvantage. Students learn how alcohol advertising companies target them utilizing mainstream music to encourage underage drinking. They learn just how many industries make money off just this ONE stream alone and how much it affects our interactions.  Music affects one’s thoughts, which affects your feelings, which affects your words, which affects your action, your behavior, and then your destiny. Once they understand how music affects their brain, why it’s CRUCIAL that they think critically when listening to music, and how music can affect their money and spending behavior, students now have the knowledge to make better choices. CEO of Her Records, Johnson states, “Music has literally been used to promote prison to our students”. “We have the ANSWER on how to get through to the average at-risk student”.

3 WAYS TO EXPERIENCE THE CURRICULUM:

You can purchase the tangible book for your students to walk through the lessons on their own or with their teacher’s guidance. There are instructor’s books for the instructor as well. The second way is through the online learning portal where students can access the pre-recorded class. This works best for students who may not be available at class time and need to be able to access the information at their leisure. The Third way is with both.  They can access the music curriculum online learning portal and fill out the book as they go along and turn it in later.

To purchase the new curriculum or the online portal class for your students, staff training, or to book a keynote speaker or music recording workshop, call 651-470-3269.  “Say It with Music” Workshop has created a new curriculum and initiative that deals with the psychology of music and how music is causing our teens to end up in prison, committing suicide, and getting pregnant by the droves. We offer a written curriculum as well as an online music curriculum class that can be accessed through our online learning portal.  We can prove there is a direct link between student behavior and mainstream music.

The study conducted at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine authors noted that the average adolescent is exposed to approximately 84 references to explicit substance use per day and 591 references per week, or 30,732 references per year. “Music is well-known to connect deeply with adolescents and to influence identity development, perhaps more than any other entertainment medium,” said the study’s authors.
